I enjoyed a 22 year career as both a teacher and administrator in education. My husband, David and I came to Lake Havasu City from the San Francisco Bay area, after my retirement from Menlo College in 2005. There I worked in the capacity of a senior college administrator, Director of Administration and Operation and Interim Vice President of Finance.
In 2004, my Mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and immediately after her diagnoses my husband and I made the decision to care for her in our home. Finding that the San Francisco Bay area was too cold and damp for her we made yet another life changing decision to retire, and move to our home in Lake Havasu City, so Mom could enjoy the comfort of her familiar desert, which she was still aware of.
