Kathy Chalmers graduated from Saddleback Community College as an RN in 1973, then from Cal State Fullerton with a BS in Accounting in 1976.  She became an IRS Enrolled Agent in 1977 and obtained a Washington State Tax Law Certificate in 2012.

Kathy Chalmers moved to Lake Havasu City in 1984 and signed on with the local hospital as an RN at $4.50 an hour.  Two facts struck her: Havasu people, including herself, were not generally well paid and those people needed affordable health care.
This prompted her to start her own business, Kathy Chalmers Taxes and Accounting and to team up with Evie Cistaro and Kathy Hodel to establish and support a community health care organization for those whose needs were not being met.  Their efforts laid the ground work for what has grown into the Havasu Community Health Foundation.

Kathy served on the original HCHF Board of Directors and served as its treasurer from 2005 to 2013.  She is excited to return to the Board of Directors, once again serving as treasurer and helping meet the ever changing health and wellness needs of our community.
